Children’s Art

Designed and developed art and creativity courses for children aged 3-18.
Acted as a visual director for art institutions.

In the exploration and research of creative art education practice over the years, I have designed a series of creative art courses. These series of teaching programmes  explore innovative teaching methods and interactive visual materials  to enhance children's creativity, enthusiasm and engagement through art practice.

The teaching design of these case courses is based on constructivist learning theory, which posits that knowledge is constructed through the interaction between individuals and their environment. Through practical activities and social interaction, students can build personal meaning and gain a profound learning experience. Specifically, these courses encourage students to actively participate, explore, and create, enabling them to construct their own knowledge systems during the learning process.

Course Model 1: "Lacquerware as Brilliant as the Stars"

This course guides students to understand and appreciate the traditional Chinese art of lacquerware, especially the development of lacquer decorations, in a simple and approachable manner. Starting with patterns familiar from students' daily lives, such as plant, human, and text patterns, the course effectively stimulates students' interest in and motivation for traditional culture. Students, playing the active role of artisan craftsmen and using eco-friendly materials for creation, not only learn about lacquer art but also develop environmental awareness and innovative thinking.

Course Model 2 "Hearing the Little Monster"

This course uses a combination of performing arts, storytelling, and thumb games, with the drawing of little monsters as the theme, aiming to stimulate children's imagination and engagement. Students, acting as performers, describe the appearance of the little monster and its related stories, and are encouraged to engage in art creation within a fun and interactive atmosphere, thereby enhancing their innovative capabilities in artistic practice. Practice has shown that teaching methods incorporating performance elements significantly increase student participation in the classroom, effectively stimulate students' creative interest and imagination, and produce a series of vivid and interesting little monster images.
